Senior/ Mechanical Engineer - Design & Development
Job Description
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
You will be responsible for CMF, ODM program, component design, tests and evaluation to ensure product compliance; and generate or propose design alternatives and solutions to technical problems. You will need to drive the development cycle of cellular products and manage design activities (core and ODM project), publish reports on complex technical problems and engineering evaluation and spearhead new processes or technologies for successful implementation of our cellular products. In addition, you will need to liaise with suppliers and their designers to develop complex and state of the art components and specifications and be responsible for mentoring and training junior engineers.
Desired Profile
Specific Knowledge/Skills
Masters or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant product design experience in consumer electronic products such as cellular phones, MP3/MP4 players and hand held devices.
Working knowledge with ODM projects is highly desirable.
Good hands-on experience in sheet metal, plastics and rubber parts design; plastic injection molding processes and secondary processes (CMF); and Pro-Engineer and CAE skills.
Candidates with Design stream experience may also be considered.
Experience in leading and managing a design team would be an advantage.
